THE BREED

Burmese

A super friendly breed that has been a popular cat with many a family over the years. They crave attention and will often follow you around and spend a lot of time curled up on your lap, on your head in bed or even under the sheets with you. They particularly love the heat and will be found buried under clothes, blankets or even trying to curl up on a radiator. If that sun is shining through the window they will be there soaking it all up. They are an energetic breed and will spend a lot of time playing and into lots of mischief. Do not be surprised if you find them on top of the door, up the curtain or into whichever unsuitable place they can find.

For this reason they do not like being left alone for long periods and work best as a family pet if you can spend a lot of time with them or you have another cat to keep them entertained.

Burmese are a short coated breed and don't need a lot of grooming. Some believe they are a hypoallergenic but this is not true. Yes some lines shed less than others and produce less dander but it is not an ideal breed for people that suffer with allergies.

You can get different coat colours but they do not come in a tabby pattern. Their sister breed the Asian is available in tabby

Boy's come in the following colours:

blue, brown, lilac, chocolate, red and cream

Girl's come in the same colours as the boy's but also have the tortie variations as follows;

Blue tortie, Lilac trotie, Brown tortie, Chocolate tortie
